Full of gunpowder, rum, a cursed crew and ‘nigh uncatchable’, the Black Pearl is indeed a famous pirate ship and represents one of our favorite theme park attractions! We have lovingly created a tea blend that perfectly encapsulates some of the flavors we associate with the pirate life.
Bold black tea that has been smoked over pine gives the distinct flavor of fire, while rum flavor and coconut pieces create the taste of Caribbean rum. Finishing the mix is the addition of rolled gunpowder black tea; similar to gunpowder green tea, except made with black tea leaves, this tea has the distinctive look of shiny round pellets and imparts a sweet, full body to the tea. Feel free to splash some real rum for a libation. Give this tea a try – for pirates and your landlubber friends!
Steeping Instructions
Use one heaping teaspoon per 8 oz cup of water
Let steep 3-5 minutes in hot water 208° (boiling) longer steep times will bring out more bitterness
